An independent firm.

Glacier Environmental Fund Limited is an independent practice. The work is bespoke investment, capital preservation, and risk management for governments, large institutions, pension funds, and family offices only.

The principal, Mitchell Feierstein, is a British-American dual national who divides his time between London and Manhattan. He has spent four decades across both cities developing new products across traditional and alternative markets, specializing in fixed-income, equity, commodity, and FX derivatives, as well as environmental markets. In the 1980s and 1990s, that work included building structural liquidity in interest-rate derivative products at major broker-dealers and banks.

During the financial crisis, he was the portfolio manager of Cheyne Capital Management’s Carbon Fund in London’s Green Park. The firm was Europe’s largest hedge-fund group.

Mr. Feierstein advises governments on disaster, risk, contingency planning, and resilience action planning. The same core work is provided to large institutions, pension funds, and family offices.

Drawing from his experience as a fund manager sitting at ground zero of the global financial crisis, he authored Planet Ponzi (published by Random House)—the definitive insider’s account of the great financial crisis.

He writes for the financial press and regularly appears on television news to explain how geopolitical events impact institutions, businesses, and the general public.

His economic insights and forcasts have featured in columns for The Independent, the Daily Mail, The Sunday Times, The Huffington Post, and The Times of Israel. His comments have appeared in the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. He regularly appears include Newsmax, GB News, and the BBC.
